"I've waited all these years, Freya. All these years" she sobbed. And pushed my head in her chest. Unknowingly, my tears were dripping. We sat at the negotiation table in the study room. Where an enormous number of books sat on the high shelves. The room was a bit color amber because of the shelves's color and the lighting system. My mother’s blonde hair was glimmering in those dim lights. Elain made us coffee and I took a sip from that; also tears were dripping, hands were shaking of mine. My mum’s eyes met mine. Her eyes, I saw, exactly my eyes. No doubt that she’s my mother. We both had amber hazel eyes. The room was suddenly fallen into darkness and seclusion. Then I cut off the solitary and began,
"What're all these? Why? And more importantly, how I got this power? I can read minds but Hexion’s. I can ignite my hands without burning. I can see those stars close enough without any high technical telescope. Why? And now, Hexion set all of these. Left my dad and sisters to rot there. Brought me here. He says that there are more parallels. I'm gonna might be delirious now, 𝑚𝑢𝑚" the first time I enunciated this word.
Then I took another sip from my smoky coffee. No matter what, I couldn’t miss my coffee because it was my favorite drink after all. Though I was sweating a lot that time, I still drank the whole coffee in one sip and looked at them. My eyes wanted answers. My mother began,
"Not because I'm your mother from another high world. Because you, and only you have these power and other prerogatives which are yet to be discovered into you. And you're here to master into them. I and any pre-generation have not such power. But the legendary and ancient god "Daragond" scribbled in his sacred Wall Of Mist that the only person who can avail these powers has the legacy to get the heirloom of these 21 parallel worlds including Earth. And once I dreamt, 27 years ago, that I was going to give birth to such a child in this 52 thousand years of discovery of the parallels. So I had to be it. My visit to Earth was tragic. No one knew about that dream I had becasue it was both advantageous and detrimental to be known. We're surrounded by enemies. Because all the other powerful men from other parallel worlds are also trying to find the heir. But they don’t know how the heir would appear. Until now. They know you well. They want to achieve all the powers from you and utilize them for their bad deeds. So Hexion's father who was my close friend left me the safest place on Earth through the “Centaurus” wormhole. My Hesta lost its balance because of the incompatible gravitational pool comparison to our planet and henceforth, I had to jump with my parachute. There, your father, Jacob hold me and saved and retrieved me. My Hesta drowned into the near sea. Perhaps no one noticed this gigantic spacecraft falling and drowning into the sea because it was a quiet and unpopular place. Where your dad was living alone. I still remember, he looked like a jungle man. And I had to live with him. But accidentally, I fall in love with your father who took care of me. He was alone in that hut. Place. I became his mate. But I was afraid of thinking about that dream I had. If Jacob isn’t supposed to be the person who would give me the child, the heir, then I should probably leave. But I couldn’t. I tried to forget about that dream and started living with him as his wife. We married in the near church. I gave birth to you. And the time you came to this world, you were mist and light and starlight. The light was flickering everywhere from your body. The neighbor who helped me giving birth was shocked and went rigid. But she was an awesome person who kept it a secret. Jacob knew everything about the legacy and my identity though I told him after your birth. So I finally agreed to my dream and considered that you were to be the one who would be the legitimate heir of the parallels. From the ancient and legendary god "Daragond". But until you were grown up, you should have to be stayed hidden. Some years later, A Hesta came. And got me. Your father promised me to keep you safe and hidden. So he did. I still love him. And after all this, I want to meet him. How's he?" Asked mum wiping her tears from her cheeks.
I was startled. Didn't know what to say. I was the heir. Of parallels. Made no sense. Why Daragond would choose me? I went to my room without answering. Walked through the doors as if I were a ghost who just had a shock. Knocks on door.
"Hi, I'm Elain. Your room keeper. May I come?" Elain asked.
"Yes, come. It's your house, not mine. You can.. you can" I said, vaguely.
"This house and world were always yours, Freya. We are your subjects" Elain smiled.
A lot happened on this day. Lots of things I'd heard, tormented. Elain and I became friends. She was sweet and delicate. She always took care of me. In my scheduled time, I used to practice fighting, researching, reading, and gossiping with Hexion and Mum. I was falling in love with Hexion again. But what he did to my father and sisters who were rotting and enduring on Earth while I was having a spectacular life. But I was forgetting Casper-self of Hexion. Because now I knew, what Hexion did, was only to save me and the legacy. He promised, my father and stepsisters were fine and happy. Soon I'd meet them. But because of the time dilation, I might never have had the opportunity to meet them. They are perhaps, long dead. Because of the third world war and the great nuclear annihilation, the Earth now might be a place of death and ashes. But I believed in Hexion’s promise. I never lost my hope for meeting them. Hope is the only thing that never dies. But staying on the other side of the galaxy from my family was like staying in the cinder. Frustrations were gripping me. Yet I believed in meeting them.
Days were new and astonishing, adventurous. Night's were full of dreams and starlight. Kepler- 452b was such a planet where the starlight glimmers so intensely. Here is no light pollution, and the stars were more clarified than Earth’s sky. By Kepler space telescope, NASA first time found the existence of this planet. And it would take 30 million years to reach this planet from Earth with the speed of New Horizon Spacecraft. Unless they could travel at the speed of light through the Centaurus wormhole. But it still couldn’t vanish the time dilation. The mirror. Hexion said. Which can diminish the time dilation and I could finally meet my family. I wasn’t sure if mum also wanted it because she showed no interest the time I talked about it. It was so certain that my mother and Hexion and other high and affluent people were consigned for my training to ready me the perfect fighter. War was looming around the planet. Presumably, amongst the parallels.
People started to bow before me. Though I didn't want it, however, I had to behave like the heir, much like a queen.
That day I was reading, a vast sound reverberated through my room. There was an attack. I endeavored to find mum, Hexion, and Elain. Found Dr. Seath in the hallway. Everyone was running, screaming. No one knew where they were. The palace where I was living was made of such concretes which could diminish the deterioration but still was shuddered by the bomb explosion. The smoke from the explosion looked green. My heart collapsed into my stomach. I had to find them. Through the hallway window, I saw Hexion and other armies from our region firing missiles. He was striving to save the people from the attack and the unidentified attackers; who wore white suits of steel and handed white guns. More like an astronaut suit. His wide chest and muscled arm were perfect to be an army on Earth. Elain.. I had to find Elain. She was 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑡. This was her last month. I strolled to her room, she was laying on the floor and panting. I carried her and took my fighting leathers and weapons and found a Hesta and fled. I found Hexion and mum.
“Get inside” I screamed sliding my front mirror of the Hesta.
Hexion and mum were still firing and a near building of colloquium crushed into the ground.
“𝐺𝐸𝑇 𝐼𝑁𝑆𝐼𝐷𝐸, 𝑁𝑂𝑊” I screamed aloud, as a command.
So they did. The army of ours was still firing. I drove the Hesta to the capitol. The safest place I could imagine at that time. So we ran away. Elain was panting. Her vagina was splitting for the baby's head. Blood was everywhere. Hexion drove Hesta and I drifted back to handle Elain. She was neither screaming nor fainting. She was just gasping and staring at me. And hold my hands. My only friend. The images of our incredulous and delicate time visualized before my eyes that time. I was crying and saying to her,
“Please stay a bit longer, Elain, we are reaching the hospital. Elain… you have to stay strong now. For your baby. For Drakon.”
Drakon was Elain’s husband and lover. Who loved Elain fiercely. Elain was sweet and delicate that any man would die before her sweetness and innocence. Tears were falling from the corner of her eyes. But she was still staring at me. Those ocean eyes, stared as if they were saying something which Elain’s mouth couldn’t.
“Say Drakon, I loved him forever, say him, I will wait for him in the constellation as a stardust,” said Elain with her tearful eyes, hands hold her tummy. Her child.
“Elain, nothing gonna happen to you. I can’t lose you. Mum, do something. Elain, you're gonna survive and tell these to Drakon by yourself.” I panted.
“Stay alive, Freya. I loved you more than Drakon. Show them what you are” Elain said. And started finally screaming.
“O my God, her birth is happening. We have to cover for her. Mum, now. We can’t wait” I yelped.
We needed to be in Hospital. Or any safer place for Elain. But the birth happened on Hesta. Her baby lied in my arms. And Elain fainted. Gladly alive. We were at least alive.
“I’m sorry little sweetheart,” I said holding the baby girl. whose eyes were exactly like Elain’s.
“You came to the world in such destructive and ineffable situation. I couldn’t serve you better by your birth. Probably now you’re contemplating leaving the world and go back to your mother’s tummy. But trust me, you and your mother are gonna survive and we’d keep a vast ceremony of your birth. I promise.” I said, wiping the blood from her body and covering her.
I glared outside by the windows. The buildings were crushing. They ignited the fire in the Raven Forest. One of the largest rain forest on this planet. It wasn’t the alpha Hesta so it couldn’t be driven at the high speed. It was a common air vehicle like the helicopters on Earth. We almost reached your destination. Until the missile from the enemy's ℎ𝑖𝑡 our Hesta and we 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑙. But Hexion saved us. But we couldn't move Elain's body instantaneously and we 𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡 Elain and her baby with the air Hesta. I saw the Hesta burning. I couldn’t scream. I just saw. My only friend. A friend who was like my own sister. Her delicate baby. I couldn’t keep my promise which I made to the baby just seconds ago. Tears warmed my cheeks. My nostrils flared. Rage boiled on my blood with my burning eyes. The whole city was turned into a burning place. A cinder. People screaming, many lost their hands, heads. Blood was everywhere. I couldn't breathe. I was about to vomit. Hexion, on his credit, was too like to vomit.
"Poor child, Elain, we lost her" said mum and fell onto her knees crying. Wiping up her tears, she rose and said, "It's time, it's time.. Freya, hustle up. Hexion, we need to be in Daragond's holy place. Right now. It's time 𝐹𝑟𝑒𝑦𝑎 𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑠 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑎𝑐𝑦" said my mother. Her hazel eyes dazzled.
"Okay. Okay.. let's go" Hexion said.
"Elain..? 𝐸𝐿𝐴𝐼𝑁.. 𝐸𝐿𝐴𝐼𝑁" I screamed behind, finally I could feel that I could scream.
And Hexion wrapped my face in his chest and arms and we three fled to the Daragond’s holy place. I saw the Hesta burning from Hexion's arm while he took me into his arms forcefully because I didn't want to leave 𝐸𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑛.
