After the hazardous war against Hybern, Feyre's court now had to bloom slowly but surely. Even it's winter and the air of Velaris is full of festiveness, the scars of past and war still lingered in the air. Not that Feyre had to refill her court with blisses with Rhys, but Feyre can't forget the tenacious memory of that moments of war, when Rhys was dead.
Feyre and Rhys and their family, inner circle, had now a new life to start after the war. They had to start everything with full refreshments and curing everything as they can. As high lady of Night Court, Feyre felt the pain and inner scars of her court and the poeple. All that she wanted happiness for everyone in her court. All she could do was to be patient and keep herself content with the given beautiful life and her court.
As for Cassian, Rhys and Azriel, they were too, striving to cure their court and Velaris. But the brutal and severe past of their could break their heart everytime when they encounter the truths of their past. Not that it was five hundred years old scars but that the scars had played the alpla role to remember the three Illyrians who they truly were.
As for Archeron sisters, they were healing slowly from every scars the king of Hybers had embedded on them, but except Nesta. Nesta devoured the loneliness and inclined herself being alone and secluded apart from her family. Now she stayed alone and far from the inner circle, she even ignored Cassian so catastrophically, the person who was under Nesta in the battleground when king of Hybern attempted to destruct them-when Nesta put herself over Cassian to save him. But yet still, she declined everyone.
My thoughts: I assume this book is just a transition and a bridge between A court of wings and ruin and A court of silver flames. This book shows the survival and healing process of Velaris and throughout the court and the poeple. This book was written in soft words and an ember of memory of each persons from the inner circle. An ember of memory is everything i can call this book. Loved this little book like the others. I can't wait to read the ACOSF sooner than ever.
